Thanks! There are a few things I need to adress on it and then I'm gonna clean it up and paint it. It's not gonna be a show stopper restore or anything, as I plan to work this tractor as a mower and snow blower machine. She should clean up nice

Got the big ol Onan out. The starter definitely needs shimmed. Got 35 years of grime and grease pressure washed off. Once I get engine back in and firing right gonna attack the hood, side tins, and fender pan.

Got engine back in and the engine tins all cleaned up. Shimmed starter and it cranks beautifully. No spark now though. Have 12v at coil. Just gonna go through and check grounds. Wanted to get this sucker running before I leave tmrw, might be sick.....

I can't think of a better reason to call in sick
Does your Onan have screw on plug wires at the coil? Some did some didn't
Did you wash the engine? If you have 12v at the coil there isn't much to go wrong, it's the coil or the points.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
