I have two 1641's one with a mower and one with a Haban sickle bar. I'm a happy camper. 1641 is a great little GT.

just because i dont really know s&*t about the newer ones, is this a cub that would have 1" axles/2pc carrier, and a super steer front axle, gt spindles??? I know where one very similar looking, albeit a parts machine, and i am looking to grab all this stuff out of it for a build...has the flapper style hydro lift handle??
Thanks Lew, and very nice machine...looks like a good mower also, just because no one ever answered my ? in the 169 thread....do you know how the old hobbs style hour meters get hooked up??? i have no plug and theres 2 spade terminals on the back, neither have markings...one hot one ground??? or one hot and the mounting post is ground??? i have heard both...sorry to derail, not trying to be an ass just figured you would know...thanks again |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
