If it weren't for guys like you, I would be lost trying to fix up my first cc and new to me 2182 w/ haban 50", that just tore up/ threw mule drive belt. My unit is In good shape compared to your newly acquired. I love the purr of the engine, when it starts. So, I have wiring issues to fix and now a belt/pulley. Once these are done looking to get loader for snow removal in southern il, easier on back.

If you want to keep the Kubota alternator a simple 3 wire regulator kohler or briggs works great.. two wires from the alternator and one wire to the battery.
Got a pic of that denso? Roughly the same size?

They do sound cool.
Snow blower might be quicker.

Here ya go Terry...

I'm not a great photographer.. hope these pics work

I was able to make it all fit with one spacer, a few washers for fine tuning the alignment, and I had to slot the upper hole on the adjustment bracket where it bolts to the water neck to allow the bracket to swing up slightly. I was able to use the stock length belt.

I cut grass at night a lot because it's cooler and sometimes that is the only time I have to do it... with the lights, the PTO, fuel pump, and diesel fuel solenoid there just weren't enough amps in the anemic little Kubota alternator.. I have been completely happy with this setup!!

Took about an hour to figure and mount... one wire to the battery and done!!
Completely reliable!!

Here is a link to the alternator I bought.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
