The motor is out of chassis so I can't get any pic's now, but I will tell you that the shaft is centered on flywheel, I turned the motor over by hand and the driveshaft stays in the same place in respect to the HYD unit shaft. I get it back together I will try to get some pic's b/4 I alter the old shaft for the u-joint fix.

Outside of the shaft being a little on the short side.... I don't understand what the issue is? They aren't perfect: Thus the reason for the flex coupler. Figure out why the shaft is short and bolt it up. No reason to go to great lengths for nothing. FWIW, post a pic of the end of the shaft at the motor. I wouldn't be surprised if we see an issue right away. If not, then the shaft is just too short.

I will get pic's when it's back together. The Shaft only looks short because it wont let the motor go back unless I lift the front of motor so the end of shaft pin will go in the hole in the coupler of the HDY unit. So it's time to do some yard work so I wont be working on it for a few days. about posting pictures can someone instruct me on the best way to post them???

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
