Don't know if you remember last month when you guys had that heavy rain come through? I was delivering a truck and trailer down your way and ended up forced off the highway as the wipers couldn't keep up. Ended up having dinner at the Shoneys in Hillsville till the rain stopped. Wasn't about to head down that hill in that down pour.

It was pretty good actually, and the people were real nice, for the most part. The waitress was real friendly. She said hey, , "If you lost a few pounds, had a shave and got your hair cut, you'd look all right.”

I said, “If I did that, I'd be talking to the hostess over there instead of you.”

I think she spit in my soup... but hey, when you’re seventy...............who cares?

She defiantly knew who you were Sam. When I asked her if she new a "Sam Mac" she said, “Yeah, I think so. Isn’t he the guy who comes in for the all you can eat and always wants to show me some, brace for his rear end or something?

I don’t think she made the connection to the garden tractor thing.
