Not many options on the market
Found this, way over my budget but I want to know what you think of it: its a 2182 https://lacrosse.craigslist.org/grd/...273132971.html this one is also over budget .. guy says in the listing that it has lots new parts.. it has a rear PTO which can come in handy (i can attach a pull behind PTO mower) its a 982 painted red https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/a...254622973.html If i dont buy the Swisher, i could spend $2 - 2.5k cash on a tractor if it is solid and will last me years. thank you |

IMO I'd rather have an old one that's built like a brick and is a tank that I can do a little bit of work than one that I have a payment on. The 129 will likely be around way longer than anything new too.
I never cared for the 1X8/9 series much, and think yellow and white Cub Cadets should stay that way, but....I like a 1X8/9 series painted up like an IH '66 series tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
