Shultzie has been a member on the forum for a while. He's said he's serviced it for the last 10 years. He obviously knew/knows the lady who owned and used it and knew somewhat of how she and/or her husband used the tractor. He also stated that it was stored inside. He would be more than happy to tell you more about the cub if you asked him. A man is only as good as his word and I've never been given any reason to doubt him on his word. He also has a 70 listed and stated the engine smokes a lot, which gives more credibility that he is willing to state pitfalls of the equipment he is offering for sale. So, I like to give people the benefit of believing the best in them, until they give me reason to think otherwise.

Both? I like sleeping in my bed more than the sofa, so I don't think both would be a good idea... Now I have my eye on a LT2138. I really like the 2182's but they they are such a beast for a smaller yard I have at this house. The LT2138 has 220 hours, shaft driven hydro. $1300 I think. 16hp Kohler I think.

The cyclops with the mowing deck deserves a test drive. If it runs as good as it looks.........

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
