(A) Download the Wiring Diagram for the Wiring Section (page 5) in the Technical Library.

(B) Once in hand, examine your new harness to make sure your tractor is wired as indicated in the diagram.

(C) If you are sure, the tractor is wired correctly, then it is time to dig out a meter, either an analog (VOM) or a Digital (DVM)

(D) With meter set to read DC Voltage, at least 20V, connect the meter Black lead to the Battery Negative Terminal.

(E) Starting at the Battery, with the meter's Red lead, start probing at the battery and make sure you have 12V. With diagram in hand, work in a forward sequence (per diagram), until you find an absence of 12V.

Let me know what you find.
You said the exact same thing I did.

Roland,
When it comes to diagnostic work, an explanation of what to do is what is needed, which I provided. If my wording hurt the OP's feelings, that is not my issue. You only repeated what I said and added "sorry for the rude or snide comments". Lew already identified the issue. It is up to the OP to correct it now.

It is how you say it. Not the diagnostic stuff. The other unrelated stuff like,

1,Just staring at it likely won't yield any results.
2,That's how you find the issue. We can't do it for you.
3,That should have been painfully obvious with a test light,

Some people take remarks like that as rude. The guy came here for help. Theres no way of knowing if he knows how to use a test light or not. Im guessing he knows staring at it will yield no result and he didnt ask anyone to go there and do it for him.

I'm not one for sugar coating things either Jon, but when I deal with a novice on anything I try not to be so abrupt. Especially when someone is just asking for some help.

Nothing went "over my head". I guess I just assumed I was dealing with adults. My mistake.

They are adults. They are also human beings.. It can be very hard for the average person swallow their pride and come into a public place and ask for help. Many people feel they are exposing themselves in doing so. They fear that if they ask the wrong question someone may jump on them and belittle them or make them look or feel stupid. I see you do just that time and time again. I am not talking about the stupid arguments you and I have. Im talking about new members who came here looking for some help. Likely not mechanics or maybe even never tried to fix a tractor before. Lets solute them for trying to fix their machine and not dragging off to a shop. This is what makes a forum like this thrive.
I have heard you preach about preserving cub cadets. Helping new members that might have little mechanical knowledge is one way to do this. If they give up, that old cub might get scrapped and they buy a new plastic piece of junk.
Hey, Its easy helping people who have lots of knowledge with cubs and using tools. It's much more of a challenge helping the average person. Are you up to the challenge?

This message has been brought to you by PBS, sesame street, and the letter H.. lol

Tim338,
Try to let it go. These guys are a lot of help but sometimes you have to overlook some stuff that was said. But if they suggest something and you don't try it, they are less likely to offer help the next time. I don't know what I would do if not or this forum. They've helped me get through some predicaments and taught me a lot. I feel like I have new friends since I've been on here.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
