Yes and I've always wondered if a red CCC made 782 would have a CCC emblem or an IH emblem.

The red 782's would either have had the IH emblem, or none at all. The yellow/white 782's would have had the CCC emblem, or none at all.

According to George Will's book, the very last red 782s off the line in '85 didn't have all the IH emblems due to parts running out. Other than that, they all should have had either IH or CCC logos/emblems on them from the factory depending on if they were headed to a CCC or IH dealer.

Jenn and I put the IH emblem from 121 on the 1512. It's not correct, but I like it!

This was going to be my suggestion.

I actually bought an IH emblem to put on my GTX2100, but then didn’t do it. If the front grille was flat instead of rounded on the GTX2100, it would be on it. Well I may still do it.......

I agree, you should go for it! I know it's not correct for my cub, but I like it and that's all that matters.

My 1050 does not have a grill emblem.
The original sales literature shows no grill emblem either.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
