In his post #13, the OP talks about re-installing the engine.
I'm Curious where in this thread did you guys come up with anyone scrapping any tractor??

Default To clarify...
I bought the 126 and a snow blade from this hand who has a tractor boneyard. The 126 narrow frame had a K241AS in it at the time with a thrown rod. He had this other 12 horse Kohler, looked similar except for the pan that will replace the 10 horse K241AS. I also have a 70, a 1000, and a 128. How rare are these?? Can some one tell me... is the 10 horse standard for the 126 or is the 12 horse? I'll try and get some pics sent after I finish my winter projects. Carpetbagger

If you are unsure of the HP measure the stroke of the engine. A 10Hp will have a 2.88" stroke and a K301 will have a 3.25" stroke.

I didnt come up with that. I simply said, if what fins said was true.. that's how I would feel

12 horse is stock for a 126... your 128 is pretty rare as well. The others not so much

The 1st 2 digits of the model tell the HP story, clear up through the QL's

There were 93,000 series 5 cubs built of which the 126 is one. (#'s 307000 thru 400000)

-There were 129,810 series 6 cubs built, the 128 is one of those, (#'s 400001 thru 29811)

I have not seen individual model numbers for series 6 Cubs published.

The tractor was purchased with a blown engine, not for a working engine. Sorry for any misunderstanding. What's a good website for used cub parts? I'm having a tough time finding an oil pan with a sump. Kohler discontinued the pan. I may have to have someone try and weld it or go back to my original idea of JB Weld to slow it down some. Again, thanks to all. CB

I would start with sponsors at top of home page for used parts. You could also place a wanted ad here. 3rd choice would be ebay.
