Default Bolwing the leaves around

I have used a similar approach to mulch leaves. I found that when you mow over the leaves with the left most blade only, the leaves are thrown into the center and right hand blades which re-cut what the left blade is throwing at them. Kinda like running them through a "blender" so to speak.

The aforementioned technique literally makes the leaves nearly disappear in the lawn. No hauling needed! Dry, crunchy leaves mulch best. I have done the same with clippings on the lawn to mulch and spread them more evenly.

My 3 blade 54 GT deck on the 1864 really does the job with freshly sharpened hi-lift blades to chop the leaves to smithereens and propel the leaves or grass out the chute. The lawn looks great after clean-up!!

To be fair, the GT54 is the best deck Cub cadet made. the 54 is great everywhere and all conditions. I switched to zero turns for mowing many years ago and would not go back but that 54 deck is awesome. I still have a 54 and a 60 for my SGT but the 54 is always the first choice!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
