Thank You DX3! I still have that ol' 1282 someplace. I think a neighbor borrowed it and I haven't seen it for a while. It'll pop up someday. As for the straight rows, that came from 35+ years of planting corn on the farm and the GPS in my eyes and A$$!!

The little hopper holds about a 1/2 pound of sweet corn. I plant 12 rows about 200 yards long which takes about 2 pounds.

That is REALLY cool Steve! Lucky guy to have the equipment to do that. Makes work more enjoyable when you have the equipment! I agree...them rows are WAY too straight. I never could get my rows straight when planting corn...heck I was only using a 6 row planter.... your likely running around with a 24 row or something and they are straight as an arrow!

How did I know! Must be nice some days once the bills are paid and the crops are growing nicely to look around at what you have accomplished every year. Not a better feeling I think than looking at your land and the hard work and sweat you put into it. Even better for you when its producing so well. I only get to look at my garden (smaller scale than your farm). Have to go to the old man's to check out the farm land to see it produce on a larger scale than my garden.I imagine he would think I was out to lunch if I showed up with a 1 row planter like yours to tell him I had come to help him plant for the day! He'd likely send me over to the corner of the field to plant him some sweet corn and tell me to hit road after that. Either way, still pretty sweet set up you have there Steve. Can't wait to see some action shots of others planting......Gee, think I am a picture freak??

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
