149 snow pics. This 14hp engine is something else. It has so much torque. Id say it right up there with the twin 18 hp B&S I put in the 582. Sounds better too.

Gotta agree with you on the amazing power these old kohlers put out. I'm very impressed with my 12 horses, and we have a Power King in the family with the 14 horse, and I've never run that machine over 3/4 throttle even with a 60" deck on it! those engineers over at Kohler sure knew what they were doing.

I've made it through the first 100 pages of this thread. There are some amazing Cubs here! Mine don't really compare but here's a few pics of my Cubs. I still have a long way to go on most of them but you gotta grab them when you can. I need to haul a 71 and a 124 home as soon as the snow melts. They are sitting in a guy's shed out in the woods.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
