This weekend I decided to put my 70 back together and start her up. Maybe even put it up for sale. I still need to change the oil and fill the rear end. It's in solid original condition, has a replacement (black) motor with no ID tag, so I'm not 100% what it is. If anyone has any info on how to tell for sure, I'd appreciate it. I cleaned up the carb, choke and throttle cables. It always ran excellent, no smoke and started on the first push of the starter. Once I get the fluids changed and a tank of gas in her, I guess I'll have to make a decision.
This rainy weather in western PA is really starting to get to me. I can't even get my garden tilled and prepped for planting yet. I'll need a week of dry, sunny weather. The garden, 982 & tiller may have to wait until the end of the month or even early June.

Since we have gotten it back running we have put almost 10 hours in it. it now has 1055.5 hours on it. All oem parts so far but, the front PTO likes to hangup or come on by it's self

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
