Default And a few more.

Have to get a new seat or have it recovered and I still have to paint the front wheels and hood. I have a plow ready to go with it.

Default Help please

I have just recieved a old IH Cub Cadet lawn mower. I can only read the stamped part of the engine plate due to the fact that it is all wore off. The decals and markings are all also wore off other places on tractor as well. I have the stamping off from the differential cover already. I have no paper work for it. I would like to know how to I.D. It properly. Everyone keeps talking about model names and I want to know what mine is too! It looks like a 60ish model by what I can tell has oil bath cleaner on carb and no lights made for it either. I just got it running and plan on restoring it. Any help would be apprieciated. It has the old 7hp kohler motor on it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
