Looks quite good for a tractor built in the mid 60s. I seem to have a soft spot for the 102. I used one for many years and for jobs it was never designed for but it has held up to the task. It also survived my two sons trying to destroy it. My one son (EricR) and I have restored it to something of what it must have looked like new. I suppose it will become a bit of a trailer queen for at least a couple of years.

Here is the package I picked up last year. My first cub. Repowered with a 16hp briggs. Put in a new pto clutch, modified the mule drive(new pto clutch was further forward so belt had funny angle), everything has come off for cleaning, rebuilding steering right now. Then it should be time for finally getting a garden in! oh, and I snuck on some tru-powers! New hytran and filter

Just inherited this beauty. I plan on sprucing her up this coming winter, replacing a few things, a little paint here and there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
