Nice job Martin. Good combination, subway and rebuilding an O clutch!

I like the original looking Original. Oil baths have become pricey these days. Question, you being one of the O gurus, any info on Original V/R’s and how they were painted? Always curious if they were left black by Delco or did IH paint them on the tractor yellow like yours?

Mike, Lew and I went back and forth over this when I did my Original. There are pictures both ways in brochures.
That was one of the questions I never thought to ask the fellow I met, who assembled them at the dealership. I asked him about the taillight location. And that he told me, it depended on the day.

Default My uncle outdid himself this time!

I replaced the center spindle on the 54GT deck at my grandmother's house today. The blade didn't look too bad, so whatever he hit must have been right on the shaft. Still spun free as can be. I will let the picture speak.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
