I like it, I would leave it as well.

You already outlined that this was not intended to be a concourse restoration.

What you have done is amazing, your tastes are spot on.

I was at a show last year with my 108 and a guy had to point out that it didn't have the original style seat and the headlight panel was for a ql, I didn't really care but he just wouldn't shut up about it and after about 10 minutes of listening to his crap I asked where his tractor was so he pointed at a 106 sitting a couple tractors down, I just laughed and walked away. His tractor was painted the wrong colors and it looked like it was done with a brush and it had a high back bucket car seat on it.
Thanks for the input Tim
I started this with a goal in mind, and as of now I surpassed that goal by a great distance I like the results thus far, and it just feels pretty damn good accomplishing it on my own, surprised myself...
This tractor will likely never leave the yard or see a show of any kind in my lifetime, so the likely hood of having a confrontation at a show is slim to none. Not bothered by what others may think is right or wrong.
But on the other hand for "my own" satisfaction like to know what's correct or not.

Thanks for the compliments.

Looks great!! I would leave it too. Great job Todd! I admire the patients you must have! I too get anxious seeing a project coming together. Someday when kids are all grown I will be able to sit back, relax and take my time to turn my worker into a piece of art!

Pretty slow on assembly last few days. Got the clutch, drive shaft and drag link installed.
A buddy (yeah, I got a buddy) stopped over yesterday while I was dabbing some paint on a few spots that I chipped underneath. He was like, it's a tractor, no ones gonna see it. I said, yeah maybe not, but I know it's there...
Question for you Original gurus. My frame is not notched out for the creepy gear, but I do have the steering adjuster hole in the tunnel. "If" I understand, the earlier tractors didn't have the cut out in the frame, and the later tractors had the steering adjustment hole.
So is this tractor a little of both worlds? The dash tower seemed to be original to the tractor when I took it off. It's a November 61 tractor.

Todd,

!

Regards,
Chris

The blank space above = just not enough words to describe it!
The IH logo hardware really tops it off. Was thinking of your detail when I was working on my new MF-8 project! The bolts had "MF" on some of them.
Regards,
Chris

Todd I viewed your other thread when you picked it up. Your dash looks early, I don't see the steering adjustment cutout in the column? And the frame is early too without creepy hole.

And yes agree with everyone. Superb job, I feel like I rushed mine

Mike, I think you're thinking of the earlier Original I picked up this summer. That one is a June tractor I believe.
Here is a picture of this one.
Oh, thanks for the kind words. What do you mean, "I feel like I rushed mine?" Is it all finished? I missed it?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
