Picked up a Cub 105 and a Cub 1200. $600 for both. I ended up selling the Cub 105 to a coworker who wants to restore it for his father. I kept the 1200, came with deck, plow and weights

One of my latest projects
Project Kub Kadet 169 history to today...
1st is as purchased no engine or hood. 2nd is Kubota Z482 Diesel from a T1600H with a failed trans. 3rd is with engine (Kubota Z482 Diesel) in and hood on. 4th is with changed fenders and fuel tank to rear (newer 1862 style). 5th is almost finished. Driveshaft installed. Still some paint left. 6th is a Brinly 10 plow I have for the rear hydro 3pt. I have upgraded to a gear reduction starter...48 degrees and no start in first video. Second video is same 48 degrees with new starter. https://youtu.be/jIjcgpfaejs https://youtu.be/WU6tGdWvrIk |

I suppose that since now the number of cubs I have has doubled I have something worth posting. My first cub is a 127 who just got fixed up with a non-smoking motor, less sloppy axle and steering, and plow last weekend.
Next is another 127 I picked up in Minnesota a few weeks ago. It came with a snow thrower that might go on it this winter depending on how bad it gets. I can't lie, I'm hoping that its a lot because I really want to see the thrower in action. This is how I got bit by the cub bug. Going to overhaul the smokey motor that came with the 127 this winter and put it in my dad's 100. I played on it a lot when I was a kid since it has been setting for a good 30 years but I'm excited that I'll finally be able to sit on it and have it run. And last, as part of the deal for the second 127, I ended up with a 123 that has been donating some parts to my other cubs but might get put back together herself when I get some more time. |

blew the dust off one of my 1450s on Tuesday. It's been sitting for nearly a full year unused, as last summer I bought a big kubota L2250 tractor with a 6 foot mowing deck, 4x4 and a 3 cylinder diesel. A friend of the family passed away and I got the kubota for a price I could not pass on. It's a beast of a tractor.
I've got a neighbor who usually plows my driveway in the cold months with a pickup and plow but he informed me a while back he is selling the truck and isn't plowing this season. Time to get the 1450 out and fixed up for snow duty! I had used the 1450 with a plow blade and chains before with good results, but where I live the snow drifts really deep overnight so I wanted to upgrade to a thrower. So I found a QA42A thrower about 2 hours away and went and bought it. Guy I bought it from has a VERY nice 1450 he bought but didn't want the thrower as his driveway was tiny. 200 bucks and some friendly cub chat later I had it in the back of my truck. so this is where I'm at with it now. I have some ag tires ordered for the front axle that should be here next week sometime. I'm also building a snow cab for it that is made from square steel tubing and sheet metal. Going tomorrow to pick up the rest of the steel and some more welding wire. I'm also on the look out for a small utility trailer so I can take it around town and do some friends driveways too. Its gonna be a fun winter!

Just got my '75 IH Cub Cadet 1450 ready for snow season. New 4-link v-bar tire chains on 10.5" turf tires, IH wheel weights, 1/4" wheel spacers, and a new back up light help get the job done! Also there is a nice 25# iron counter weight on the fixed draw bar, below the rear lift.
I had to cut down the lift rod and weld it together as it was too long where the hyd. lift would not pick up the blade at all. Works great now! Front blade is an IH 42", and I up graded to 1" front wheel spindles too. |

I know the feeling of family tractors. I still get to use Dad's 125 that I learned to mow/rototill with, and it brings back memories every time. Dad's got some bigger tractors I wish he would still run so I could remember driving those again, so I know how that feels too.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
