Yes that’s exactly what those were. I was in high school before I realized that my dad made the weights out of kids plastic sand buckets. 2 acre yard, 7 horse cub, timed blades no guards....still remember the instructions
..... “ it’s real simple, you ever get off that tractor without disengaging mower you will loose at least one toe!”......
Since I didn’t want to be “ nine toe Nate “ the rest of my life, I followed the old mans instructions to the letter...

More rain, more driveway repair. Flat tire on the old trailer, had to break out the #2. Got to put scratches in it sometime.

So, zippy... got an original your just dying to get rid of? What kind of shape is that bad boy in? Google mapped Wisconsin, something like 8 hours away? Drive up, spend the night, get an original, some cheese, head back home....

Today, I changed the oil, greased, and checked the transmission/final drive fluid. I just Had to get the 1250 Nightmare ready for the parade on Saturday. Tomorrow, a new spark plug and a little shine, and it will be ready to load and go.

I’ve been keeping an eye out for an original to restore. They just don’t come up for sale around me that often. Last weekend a buddy of mine I hadn’t seen in a while stopped by. He saw the 125 and said he would love to have something like that. Says that he can get his grandpas old cub and I can restore it for him. (I always like it when people say that, ‘ sure swing it by one Saturday, we can knock it out before super ‘..... ) he hasn’t seen the tractor in about 5 years, but it’s been in the family for 40-45 years. It’s a 1971 cub cadet. I show him some google images, but he thinks his looks different. I tell him to take some pics and let me see.
