Georg,
First, I am glad to see that you are doing well after being in the hospital. That is great. Second, that engine is looking real good. Can't wait to see it all together and running.

I made some progress with my Kohler Motor. The piston is installed, head and oil pan are in place. Ignition is installed and it sparks good, if I turn it by hand, at the flywheel.

Georg-
Maybe it's just the small picture, but are you sure the connecting rod is installed correctly? There should be an oil hole in the rod cap, and it should be on the camshaft side. I can't see an oil hole in the picture... |

Hi Matt,
oh, i see my Error, the Oil Hole is on the wrong Side. I have only a Paper Copy of the Service, and the Pics are not yery good in it. My English is not the best also, and perhaps, i understood it wrong. The Rod doesn't have any Match Marks on it, for the Position of the Rod Cab. Can i turn only the Rod Cap, or is it important, to turn the complete Rod? Georg

The rod should have match marks on it...you need to turn the entire rod around.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
