Nascar put the KYbosh on it and problably with good reason before someone got killed ,but it was dramatic

Ok Ben, that's just too cool! Never owned a Jeep, not because I don't want one..... Always wanted to drop a B series 4cyl Cummins in a Jeep. Cool idea with the Mercedes! For an odd engine, those things ran smooth!

Okay, you guys can go back to the "Stuper Bowl" stuff.

So in football they play the whole game beating each other up over a quarter. You know they flip a qtr at the beginning of the game and then play that whole time chasing the qtrback just to get a stupid quarter...geesh

Of course, that is why they chase him.....they are trying to get their "quarter back".

Just for the record Nik, I prefer Kosher pickles.
Now onto the real sporting event. Nascar! One thing that hasn't kept me into it as much as before Feb. 18th 2001 was the death of Earnhardt. That boy earned every ride and dollar he made, unlike the racers of today who most were born with a silver spoon in their mouth.
Back in the day when the good ole boys started if you didn't place you weren't paid, different now days. But it's still much more of a sport than any ball game would ever be. These ball players take a week off if they get a hang nail, where the Nascar drivers (old school) drove 400 miles with broken bones. I remember Earnhardt driving with a broken sternum.
None of these guys complain about contract negotiations. Unlike these over paid whooses who play a game. Remember in school, you went outside to play a game? Of..... football, basketball, baseball, there a game, nothing more.
Any of these so called athletes wouldn't last in a car for 200 miles let alone 500 or 600 miles. So yah, let the season begin!
Man, don't know where all that penned up frustration came from, but I feel a whole lot better. ahhh
Let the haters begin.

I've read that Nascar died when Sr died....I'm beginning to think there's some truth to that. Look at the debacle of what has become the "chase...."

Just my 2 cents about racing from an ex racer.
Since this thread has gone totally of track and is now focused on the upcoming racing season I thought I would share a conversation that I had back around 96 while I was instructing for the BMW Car Club. We were at New Hampshire International Speedway. I was chatting with Ted Goddard who was in charge of operations. Somehow I said something about Nascar and racing. Ted’s comment was that Nascar is not racing, I asked him to explain. He said do you see all of those seats over there in the bleachers? Yes I do. Well people have a certain amount of what we call entertainment dollars to spend per year, it’s our job to put them in the seats, show them a good time and relieve them of as many of their dollars as possible and to have them come back year after year, In order to do that we have to put on a good show. How many times have we heard the comment “The Show” no my friends even though I watch Nascar it is not in my opinion true racing. To me real racing is what you see at the club and local track level.

I do believe there is a portion of the race that is "show" to keep people coming back to drain their wallets. But having a good friends son who works for Gibbs team, there is racing on a weekly basis.
None of it today is as it was back in "the day" of grass roots racing. But I still think it's a sport that would be harder on a persons body and brain than any of the "ball" games that are out there. Takes much more of an athlete.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
