Agreed. Did I miss the part about eating the belt? I thought I read carefully. I know he said he changed the belt.

I may have confused that with another members problems with a blower. Sucks to get old. I have to be honest I have never owned a Cub snow blower and have no intension of ever owning one. I'll stick to plows. Less moving parts, and when they break you can see what the problem is. Back in the day when I bought my first "New Cub 1210" the dealer talked me out of buying a blower and into a Yamaha 828 walk behind. He said the blowers were a PITA. I ended up with the Yam 828 and the 1210 with a 38" deck and a blade. Gotta say he did me right. That package served me well for 20 years till I moved south to VA. RIP Stan Adams.

That's OK Sam. My CRS acts up some days. Today is a good day I guess.

I like the snow blower because it launches the snow way off the driveway (when it is working as it should). We get lots of snow here and those plowed banks can stack up pretty quickly. I've owned this unit for about 12 or 13 years and this is the first time I've had trouble with it.

Yep and from what the weather guesser just said it looks like you'll be getting a bunch in the not too distant future. Keep us posted on how your doing.

I've never used a blower before and am not familiar with them but it sounds to me that the PTO clutch air gap should have been checked first with an intermittent engagement problem.

That style PTO does not have an adjustable air gap.

Well, we got about 8" of snow yesterday, and my wonderful wife cleared the driveway while I was at work. She said it worked very well and had no issues. I used it last night to cut back one side a little more and it worked fine. We got a bunch more snow this morning so we'll see how it goes. We could get 3-5 more feet (yes, FEET) by the end of tomorrow. I sure hope that doesn't happen, but if we do it will be a good test for the cub. Thanks to all who have tried to help me out.
