It uses this style key.

Home Cheapo, TSC should have them. I'd drain the old gas out before trying to start it. It has a drain on the bottom of the float bowl. Little brass screw just above the black hose.

Thanks everyone. Is there more than one type of Indak key? I tried the one from my Case 646 and it wouldn't turn. Mabe the keyswitch is stuck and needs some lube like everything else on this tractor from sitting outside??? I'm definatly draining all the gas and changing the oil before I attempt to start it. Thanks for the tip on the drain on the fuel bowl. Anyone know what size battery I need?? It looks like it uses a battery much bigger than the normal lawn tractor battery. Thanks Again!

No idea what your Case key looks like but the one in the link is what my Cyclops all use. I'd shoot some WD-40 in the switch. Battery is larger than a L&G battery, here's a pic in my 2182.

Here is the link to the 2182 I'm working at the moment. It may give you some ideas about what to look for.

This is in the tech library, more on the care and feeding of the Cyclops.

The battery that came stock new had 500 cca and was a group 26R. Here is a pic of the key used in a 2182.

The Indak key worked. Both my Case tractors use the same key. I just had to lube the keyswitch and it turns now. I drained the fuel today using the tractors fuel pump so now I know the fuel pump works. I also drained the fuel bowl as suggested and changed the engine oil and replaced the filter. I got all the plastic off and pressure washed everything including the mower deck. This thing was really dirty but the pump and rear axle were suprisingly clean. I bought a Cub Cadet hydro filter 923 3014 but when I got home it had a 723 3014 on it. Anyone know witch is the correct Hydro filter number for my 2182? That's all I had time for today.

Cub changed the part number from 723 3014 to 923 3014, you have the correct filter. Just a FYI, Wix 51410 or NAPA 1410 are also good filters to use and they cost less in most case's.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
