I'm like Zippy, about 30 miles is the furthest we ever traveled to haul a Cadet home. However that particular Cadet (122) was sold in the Midwest, went to S.C. before coming to Raleigh, N.C. All the original manuals managed to stay with it along its journey, but it did lose its snow blower along the way.
![]() I guess it just depends on how plentiful Cadets are in your area or how far you are willing to go for a rare machine. As best as I can remember, we have 10 of them. The 100, 382, 128, and 2072 were all delivered right to the shop door.

OK..... I never driven more than an hour for a cub
But I let it slip my mind that I've driven close to 300 miles from home for a NOS K301 that fits a cub. The bonus is meeting up my with brother and his family vacationing in the Finger Lakes region in NY about less than an hour on the way back. Got to stay the night. I want another NOS K301!

The last three I've brought home all were in the 3 - 4 hour range one way. Now that I'm retired, if I found the right Cub at the right price I'd say probably 6 hours max. That way, I would be able to drive out, BS for a while, and drive home all in one day. But who knows, an awesome, once in a lifetime deal would require special consideration!!!

For this old fart an 8 hour round trip is about max. Luckily at the moment I have no burning desire to pickup anymore Cub's. The 1864 I got a few months ago I was able to get the seller to ship it for less than I could have driven to PA to get it.

I have travelled up to about 4 hours for some tractors but really since I started flipping tractors about 6 years ago most all of the best finds have been free, or cheap, and less than an hour away, and that includes every Cub Ive had or have now, so Ive learned to be patient... something always comes along

Since it is a good hour round trip just to go get some beer, am not sure how far I would go for a Cub. I might be the only one I MT with a Cub. Maybe South Dakota it Kinda close

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
