Pretty impressive numbers on here. This thread will be very impressive 20 years from now.

I was working on the 10 yesterday and noticed its just 44 hours away from 13,000 hours. Since Harvester was Case IH when I was born I asked grandpa when be got it and he remembered it being 3 years old with a little over 1,000 hours.

Dad said he remembers driving it home being in hog heaven! Said it was a major upgrade from the old hiniker cab on the 856, to 1 with a working radio and ac... So much quieter.

My Uncles' bought an '81 tri-stripe 1086 in spring of '91, real nice paint, chrome stack, 3 remotes, and the digital data center. It was sweet. Ran it on a hydro-swing haybine for several years. My Uncles never cared for it or the cab, but I loved it. Pretty sure it's the only old IH they have that they've never had to overhaul (2-806s, 1206, 1066, 1466, 1566). The 7110 hasn't been touched either.

50,000 hours on a farm tractor? I'm going to call (BS on) that one too..... That's 6 straight years of running 24/7. Or 12 years of running 12/6. Even if they ran it 6 days a week 8 hours a day.... that would take 20 years. Yeah.... the tractors in the world with even 20,000 are VERY few and far between.


I'll also add, that most of the tractors that you guys are claiming exuberant hours, are electric hour meters. I've worked on tractors for a long, long time guys. I've seen more than one of those electric meters goof up. Run while the key was off, suddenly change hours, run faster than they are supposed to.... Magnums hour meter is built into the dash display.... not even a separate meter. Any number of things can make it goof up. Not saying electric meters aren't accurate. They are, just so long as they work right. But, a mechanical meter only adds hours when the machine is actually running. Not just when the key is on. Personally, I think that all the tractor meters should run through the oil pressure switch. That way they only work when oil pressure is present.


The farm tractor stuff is cool guys..... but I didn't really mean tell me about your high hour XXXXX.... Let's try and stick with Cubs please.

My highest hour machine is my 2284 which should be around or break 1000 hours this year. It gets used to exclusively to mow my yard, a neighbors yard, and a decent sized lot next door on a weekly basis and sits during the winter. My 1864 has about half that at just shy of 500 hours on the engine. The trans/frame/etc has pushing 2000 hours as it was a city mower in its heyday. I swapped the engine (and hour meter) a couple years ago from a much younger 1863. The lift cylinder on it has a small leak. I do have another one that I need to get around to swapping in but who knows when that'll be!

I have a 102 with creeper that I bought from the original owner back in the mid 70s. It came with mower and snow thrower and was my only machine till I bought my ill fated 1420 and a couple of years later traded for my 2084. I have no idea how many hours that tractor has but in addition to mowing and snow work it was used to haul loads of fire wood from my grandfathers woods about a half mile away. The engine has been rebuilt twice. A couple of years ago Eric and I decided to refurbish the old girl. When we removed the drive shaft it looked more like a cam shaft. It was worn about half way through in one spot. It has become a trailer queen now.

Dad has a 110 Deere he bought new, around 1966 (round fender). It has an 8hp Kohler. Its been rebuilt twice---I think the block was bored the first time, maybe crank turned too. Second trip probably just valves and rings, maybe a piston. When it was all we had, it logged an easy 70 hours a year (being conservative here). By my best estimate it's north of 2,000 hours. For what it's worth, the tires and deck bearings are original, and I think the muffler is to. Good machine, just a few springs, pulleys and belts required over the years. I did re-machine the cam follower for the steering, all the ball joints are original (Cadet really should have used that same size that Deere did ) Other than tow a lawn trailer, its been a grass mower all its life. My sister and I both learned on this machine. I started mowing at 6, dad bolted a 2x4 onto the pedal so I could change gears without grinding. 30 years later he decided it was Ok to take it off.

The only cub that I can say with certainty I have correct hour on is the 1541 we bought new. Went out to see ,has 1689 hrs. Has had valves adjusted once and new crank seals since new. Tractor has had front tires , deck , fluid and filter, still running strong.

Just mowed my 1 acre yard yesterday on my 782 (K-17, series II). Meter shows over 2300 hours (over 2100 hours when I bought it). Seems to be running good.

I still think this info is cool.

It does look as though my suspicions were correct. Not many 2000+ hour machine out there. Bulk of them fall in the 1-2K range. Sure wish the older machines had meters on them. It would be neat to see how many hours some of the "O"s, 100's and others have on them. I bet there are some super high hour 100's out there. Almost every one people buy and show on here look like they have been run through hell and back.

I wish the analog hour meter/maintenance minder style meter like on the quiet lines were made different. As we know they roll over at 600 but it would have been better for them to roll over at 1,000 or maybe have had another little ticker that progressed if it turned past 600 for the first time to let you know that it did. There's a lot of quiet line people that are not sure of their hours because of this.

I'm overhauling an extremely smoky M12 right now in my latest 1204 which just came up shy in the poll, 1997 hours. Most of mine with meters are between the 1k and 2k range. My main mower at home though not a cub, has 3,500 hours on it, original 17 horse Kawasaki.

I like these kind of threads too. 2 Highest meters I've seen is in my line of work were 35,000 hours on a Toyota forklift and the winner was around 55,000 hours on a reefer unit on a trailer, thermo king I think it was. I'm sure if these OTR drivers had meters on some of these trucks with 2 million miles on them it would be way up there as well.

I go to a lot of distribution centers to work and some 3 shift operations are putting north of 4,000 hours a year on their lift trucks. It's an average of 11 hours of operator use a day if you divide it by 365 days. And a lot of these are stand up style lifts, so instead of seat time that's stand time!
