			I'm going to be taking pictures as well lol , I appreciate the help . I will give u all an update tomorrow on the carrier bolts . If everything checks out ok in the rear I'm headed to the hydro gear next. Should make for a fun weekend ......

			One thing I forgot to mention was when I was disassembling the rear   I had noticed that the diff breather tube rubber grommet seal was ripped.  Would this be enough to give me a problem  with sucking air into the system?

			The suction tube is at the bottom of the trans, so that shouldn't affect anything.   Also, since it is a breather it naturally is open, so it wouldn't hurt anything except that it would let debris enter the trans.

			Not sure how I missed this , but I saw this when I came home today and started to work on it. Think I found my problem ... The other side looks good , not showing wear . I'm guessing I need a new axle... I would say they're still 60% good spline on the back part of the axle , hard to believe it would still cause my problem with the hub still making that much contact . |

			BINGO, I believe you got it now.  I'd redo the notorious bolts in red Loctite, look around in there and button it back up. I'd also scribe a mark on both axles and hubs and keep an eye on them. Let us know if that does the trick.

			I'm skeptical still. Unless your info was not 100 percent correct. You said that when using diff lock you could climb the hill in reverse but forward still wouldn't pull and just chattered a lot. If it were that axle it wouldn't make a difference forward or reverse it should have pulled up the hill both directions assuming you had the diff lock on in both directions.

			I don't know why it didn't make the chatter in reverse , forward yes it did .  Also I was thinking , with the diff lock engaged going forward up a hill the other side of the axle that is fine would still be enough to go uphill even with the other side slipping. Is this logical thinking or am I way off here? Also the amount of spline coverage still good on the hub to axle , id think it would be enough to not make the noise. |
