I'm sure, behind the scenes drama.
One think I know is don't trust anyone on the internet. Do not be naive.
I have never become friends with someone I've never met in person.
I read one of the founders of facebook said that social media is destroying mankind. It's not hard to believe.

I have friends here that I have never met. I have had 2 members send me parts, for free, with free shipping. I do not consider this social media. Just my .02.

Jonathan will be missed. I hope he reconsider's, and comes back.

Jimbob, Terry, Merk, Todd, Tim, others... Good points made.

Jon isn't PC, he's a deplorable, black and white, wake up dumbdumb, individual that, in his own way contributed more than 95% of total members of this site combined! Why are people such pussys about their feeling's? I don't get it, feelings aren't worth having and certainly don't have a place in any type of mechanical work, it's about getting the job done and going home at the end of the day. You build something un-safe or do something that will result in bodily injury, you need to be told about it. Not just him but anyone commenting could save a doctor bill, ride in the bandaid bus, or the hearse. If the delivery offends you, suck it up and drive on, it's the difference between a boy and a man (no offense Delta Cub).

I mean really, peeps gonna talk shit because he wasn't PC..... FFS!!

Edit: nebraska had a not PC coach that won games and we couldn't handle it, so we got a "nice guy" and had the worse season since 1958. Nice guys finish last

Well, never thought this thread would end up four pages long.
BUT seeing everyone is jumping in, why not. I hope this thread don't close, like every other one that has disagreements.
If some would do a little "searching", most questions can be answered. But it seems that most with a question wants instant results. Myself, and many others, and Jon didn't have interweb for "instant results" when we were having tractor issues. We had to dive in and figure out the issue. Or as in my case, learn from my uncle, with hands on research.
Jon, speaking for myself, not him, wasn't into babysitting. If you had tried everything you knew, and did some research, and still came up without a fix, he'd be happy to help. But most issues can be solved by searching the archives. OCC, has one, if not the best archives on the net. (don't know if those are the right words, but you know what I'm talking about)
Then, whoever said you can't be friends with someone you haven't met. Where did you get that idea? I've had some pretty shitty times in my life here on OCC, and this group reached out, and helped out in ways I can't explain in words.
And Jon was a big help in a couple of those times. Phone calls, texting, emails... So YES, you can be friends without meeting.
And yes, some of us are cut from the same cloth, and we stick together. If there was something he (Jon) said, and it hurt your feelings, or you thought it wrong, push the back button, and move along. It's not like he was up in your grill, and you couldn't get away.
And as far as his contributions to OCC, ain't seen none better. He's forgot more than most naysayers will ever know. But he rarely forgets anything.
OCC's loss, is someone else's gain. Hope things can work out with the higher up's, time will tell...
Jeez, feels like we're going to be digging a hole, and chucking him in.
No proof reading here, just what I feel.

I just wrote to Jon 3 days ago and was surprise nobody comment about him been missing since last week, he give a lot here even when he was in a very dark period of his life, I appreciate people like him because no matter how hard the life hit them they get up and are there if you need help. Yes he is the kind of guy who may hit you like a cannonball but if your smart enough to read between the line and make fun of it instead of crying like a drama queen you may find out how helpful and smart he his.

PS: Only 9 days before Christmas!

PPS: Well said Todd!

Honestly, if the FAQ included a disclaimer that OCC had a pet troll that was harmless and served several useful purposes, people would have been less likely to venture to the "friendliest tractor forum". I was tempted more than once.

Well, I guess I will miss the guy! Even though he and I started off on the wrong foot, I came to understand him, and he could understand me. I will say we are friends.

I recall a guy building a unsafe contraption using a cherry picker as some sort of truck engine removal tool. The picker was fastened to the front of the 127? Jon told the guy straight up, its a unsafe pile of junk. I give Jon credit for that as he could have saved a serious injury or death.

Well, there are a lot of opinions in this thread, and we all know opinions are like A__holes, we all have one, so here is mine. There is no denying that Jon has more knowledge about tractors and equipment than a lot of us and that his knowledge helped others. The problem as I see it, was in the delivery. Jon is a moderator. I would assume that means he does know more and that is why he is here. Understand I am no snowflake I am a first class passenger on the Trump train that is running over political correctness. This is not about being PC . It is about treating people with respect. If a teacher, parent , boss, coach or moderator can't perform their duties as such without belittling people than they should not be in that position period. You don't get respect if you don't give it. All the people saying it is ok I would dare to say you would not put up with the same treatment from your wife's or kid's teacher , boss or coach. Being in a position of authority not only requires a greater level of knowledge but also a maturity and patience to deliver that knowledge effectively. Offending people is not effective. This issue is not new it has been here since I joined years ago. I am a member of multiple other forums on multiple subjects and have never seen anything like it on any of them. I will end on this note compare Jon's methods to one of our other moderators who has a fondness for the cyclops tractors. Night and day difference.

Yeah it's weird coming here and not seeing a bunch of posts by him........
What's up?

I too have met him in person, before that he seemed a little rough but since then, he hasn't really jumped me on here like he did a couple of times before that.
And I know sometimes I read some of my old posts and think oh jeez I wrote that? Things that, at the time that I posted, seemed just fine

drcjv- Yes, there is truth in your statement. That sometimes upset me, because I am grown up, and when Jon would crack back at someone with a sharp response I wondered how many more times he would put himself in that same positon.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
