Isn't it about time for another update? I've been waiting, I need some inspiration and some warm weather to get my butt in gear.

Thanks for asking, actually I just got through with my last hydraulic lines. I ran a set of hard lines to the front for my front remotes. Since I used an 82 series lift cylinder I had to shorten the soft lines and have new end couplings (that fit the old style valve) put on at the tractor shop yesterday and installed them today. I have the hydraulics finished
![]() I took the starter off the M18 and cleaned it. I also had to put a new return spring on and new boot, now it works nice and smooth. I am now having to retro-fit the air breather assembly. It bumps the gas tank so I need to move it forward about 3/4" . I have a couple of options in mind, just haven't taken the plunge yet. The biggest thing coming up is to make a new wiring harness. Once that is done it will be ready to start up and test drive. Oh, and put in new axle seals. And I am sure I am forgetting something but I'm close to having a driver. Then it will have to be completely taken apart and painted ![]() I haven't had as much time lately to work on it but it's coming along. I have a new project now that is not Cub related, an 82 VW Diesel Rabbit ( so I can drive to work for about $15/week vs my truck at $75/wk.

Got a pic of your air filter interference problem? The early KT-17's had a flat air cleaner that might work...

Here are some pics of the air breather assembly problem. As you can see the filter is to close to the gas tank and the lid will not go on. I already moved the tank back as far as it will go. Do you know of an assembly that will fit? I have some options to fix this but if I could find a bolt and go unit that would be great!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
