Todd

Good talking to you the other day about the air cleaner issue. I would have done the same thing. Get it up and running and at some time the proper carb will come along.

Love the "inspector" pic.

Much appreciated guys
Well today was big for this boy. It's alive
After all these months of wondering how it was going to run after all the repairs I've done to it, I'm delighted to say it runs great.
Let it run to get some heat into it, then left it sit to cool off and took the fuel tank and tins off and re-torqued the head bolts. Wasn't off by much.
"If" there ever is a next time, I'll run a temporary fuel source instead of mounting everything and having to take it back apart to re-torque the head bolts. Learn as you go I guess.
Noticed the battery holder I built is a little deeper than the factory one, so my bolts are a "tad" to longeasy fix there...
Buttoned everything back up, then had to fix a couple small nicks in the paint, next comes the hood and headlights, then ????

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
