Thanks Oak & Tacosteelersman for the kind words, It's a worker for sure. It a mower, it plows, it pull's the sled, I made a pole boom for it to carry things. It's got the woods back blade for grading limestone or moving snow. 126# weights on each back wheel, I'm adapting a Wheel Horse tiller for it too!Attachment 62007

Y'all have some nice machines here!!! When I was searching for a replacement for my 2166- I got some input on the 16XX's, the 18XX's and the even nicer 20XX's.
I would have loved to have a machine like that- but don't really have any place to work on them- as I have no garage, or easy access to basement. Last fall I found a deal on a machine I'd always wanted(for newer vintage), and drove to Pennsylvania to bring back a 2004 2544. I had wanted the metal front end over the plastic, and the Kohler 2 cylinders are a lot nicer than my old one-lunger. And this looked fairly clean as well- just a couple of surface spots on deck. I had a 2166, that led a fairly difficult life, and the deck finally rusted in center and bent, with the help of a wandering rock!!! A friend welded in a plate that kept me going for a while. It had a bagger on it- and until I found a 3 bin bagger for the 2544- I really couldn't use without getting grass all over wife's wood chips. I chased a few deals on used baggers- but fell through. This weekend I sold the 2166 for $400, and now had the coin to get the 3 Bin. Checked Ebay to get hold of CubcadetMaster up in Waterbury VT, and he found an older new Cub 210 bagger- gave me a sweet deal on it, and met me somewhere shaving an hour each way off my ride. Cub Cadet 1872 Hydro
I've been restoring my 1872 and I added a 3pt hitch. I have a plow, disc, harrow and grader blade that I have nearly done with the 3pt hookup.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
