Been having problems welding the crack in the front of my 2072 but I think I got it tonight. While I was there fixed 2 small cracks where the eng bolts in. This is a hard way to learn. I kept blowiing threw the frame, guess I wasnt moving fast enough. While I have the frame on its side Ill patch in where the NF lift will go. Also smoothed out the holes where the alum trannies always break. Such a great design! Now I need to flip it back over and grind out the weld on the back and put a piece in to renforce it.

Thanks guys, I just hope I didnt hurt it. On the welding forum they told me I can put too much heat in it and make it like glass and break even more. Earl aka DaDuke and i have been talking about the repair too. He told me the same thing about too much heat in the repair. So we shall see. Ill put the plate in the back this weekend and roset weld the hole and hopefully it wont crack again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
