I think if I blew the plug out of a Kohler head,,
I would buy a drill and tap for an 18mm plug and simply install the larger plug. IIRC,, the Ford 8N used that plug, my IH 404 (I sold it 22 years ago) used the 18mm plug,, The reach of the plug from my IH 404 was very similar to the reach of a Kohler "K" engine plug. Considering the application,, the plug for that 404 was probably about the same heat range,,, |

Haha I have a die and tap set from mac tools. It's a habit of saying oh, die and tap.

I also have access to a aluminium welder at work. Maybe I'll weld it up, drill and tap.

Decided to go ahead and pull the head and have a peek. This what I saw. Flipped head gasket around and found a dark spot. Not sure if its leaking or from hot spot from exhuast What does this mean?

So, I sanded the head with a piece of glass and 180 grit. I used metal ink made just for low and high spots. The head came out nicely. I need to drill and tap for new spark plug.

Was it burning oil?? That valve being white indicates oil burning. I think your in for a little more than a resurface and gasket

Yeah, it does burn oil. Only a puff when its controlled by the governor
