Red, depending on the fund$, here are some options.

On the battery - I just use a good Deka L&G one and get a tender for it.

The exhaust - I got 2 complete ones off of Evilbay, one was $165 and the other was $200 to my door. Be careful on used ones because the ones I replaced were not passing enough exhaust and loading the motor up.

This is a good seat for the money but you will have to drill it to fit.

Some say they run cooler without the side panels but I think they look better in place.

I'm always looking for SGT cat 0's and the ones I see on Evilbay and others are crazy high. I got my Ruegg shipped to my door for $462. Look at the one Cub123 just installed. If it doesn't have to be correct there is a guy in NC that makes the GT cat 0's for around $350 + shipping.

On the radiator, It explains how it is attached in the 82-72 service manual on page 1-21. If you need that manual send me your email or it may be available in the tech section.

Keep up the good work! Your doing a great job so far.

If the 982 had a cast iron rear, you'll need a different rear cover plate with the stud for the belt idler, or modify the existing one you have.

You will have one like in the first pic from the 982 but will need one like the second for the aluminum rear. I may be able to trade rear covers once you get yours and you need a different one. That would be a killer deal if he has it for that much.

i dont get it why would you want to put an leaky acid battery in your tractor & have it eat your tractor up like a grilled cheese sandwhich & to replace it every 2-3 years, when you can get a dry cell batery that will out perform any acid battery in CCA & will last 8-12 years so why wouldnt you pay the $110.00 price the acid batterys are 50-90 dollars & dont like the cold !! :i had an ODYSSEY Batterie that i had for 15 years in my harley & sold the bike with it & the guy still has noproblem BB&YS:

72....I don't like the cold either, that's why I moved south. I never thought about a dry cell batt but it sounds like a good idea and I will check on the next one I need. I just use a good $50 Deka and a tender and don't have any problems. Can you get those at a regular batt supply store? I was just letting him know that you don't need a gigantic batt in a diesel like some people think.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
