I thought I had my clutch all put together correctly going by pictures of the old one, and then I come to find out thru the parts diagram there is a spacer that fits in front of the release bearing and behind the teaser spring. I ordered the part and got it put on today. I thought I would post a picture of the Clutch spring components and show the order they go. This would have helped me a bunch. Come to find out, that whoever rebuilt the clutch on the 128 in the past did not use that spacer.

The upside of pictures, they hide things you see up close with your eyes. But thank you. I have this place to thank for giving the courage to try something this in depth. Thanks buddy, but I have seen your work, I have a long way to go to match your quality. Thank you very much, I am enjoying finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Another great day to work on the 128 some. I was able to get the clutch installed on the frame and adjusted. I got the PTO rebuilt and installed too. I had forgotten I had a PTO adjustment tool and happen to find it in my tool box.
Just ordered the 3 pin drive plate bushing for the clutch shaft and the Clutch safety switch spring. They should arrive in a couple of days. My electric harness should arrive around that time also, so I will be able to get the harness in and then set the motor in once I press in the bushing for the clutch shaft. It's amazing how much dust something can collect even when covered in sheets.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
