One can repair the trunnion without splitting the machine?

Dan,
Sorry I did not reply to this sooner. Missed it some how.
The trunnion in the blurry pictures in previous portion of this post has wear from the two washers rubbing slots into the trunnion at each end. The wear is normally towards the outside of the tractor (Left side of trunion) I repair these by cutting a piece of 1/8 inch square steel key stock long as the out side of the trunnion bracket. Placing it over the worn area with the springs back in the correct location. Then spot welding the key stock in place along the outside and ends. This is a quick fix not a original restoration.
