Here is the standard diesel diagram, and the PDF is the 1782's diagram.

Is it generally "spot on", or does the cycle need to be repeated again? It sounds like this may be a good way to keep from counting. I always have trouble with that, letting go of the key to count on my right hand when I get to six. I'll be using a starter solenoid from a 1650 that I parted, along with the newer NGK plugs, but it will work the same way yours does, and yes, the timers are the same.
Yeah you have to turn the switch to the left for glow plugs. it also fires them while your'e cranking I think. Haven't tried mine below 40 yet, as its in the shop still, but it fired right up cleanly with just one light when I started it several different times.

Okay, it's been a while since I posted progress, so here goes it. I got the fan brace from Sam, so the driveshaft is installed. I swear I could pick the tractor up by the driveshaft, without it budging. I am still waiting on some Kubota parts from Japan (Fast and Furious reference), but one order did come in. Note the upper radiator hose, and Todd's insulation. If anyone knows the part number for the Kubota D600 label that goes on the valve cover, let me know, or if you can send a nice picture that I can take to the vinyl guy, that would work too (can be for a D640, as long as you don't tell anyone it's just a 600). I didn't plan on stickering up the valve cover, but I scratched it, so now I want to make it look factory. Also, any thoughts on isolator pads for the radiator? The parts diagram doesn't show anything on the mounting, and I know they weren't there when I took it apart, but the air cleaner pad wasn't there either. Oh yeah, I found something to fill the hole for the PTO selector switch hole, and a use for one of the fuse holders. Looks factory, doesn't it?

The air cleaner's pre filter is what comes with the new ones. I had to whack it a few times to get it to fit, without rubbing. The parts diagram is wrong about the thermostat. They show the gasket under the thermostat, but it's supposed to be the other way around. I also bought six of the exhaust manifold studs, instead of the three studs and three bolts. The idler pulley is a McMaster special, since the old one had bad bearings. I went ahead and replaced the bearings in the alternator and cooling fan. I aso added my own chrome tip, and it's a 2.25" turn down, on the B7100 muffler (yes, it is longer than the stocker, and cheaper). Like I said, I'm still waiting on a few parts, like the water pump, so I suppose I'll start on making the wiring harness tomorrow. My plan is to have it running before I tarp it and start sanding and painting the tins.

Now it's just too purdy to take outdoors!

Can you tell me where the upper rad hose and insulation came from?

882 needs both.

Cory

"isolator pads for the radiator? The parts diagram doesn't show anything on the mounting, and I know they weren't there when I took it apart,"

I'm not sure they have isolator pads under the radiator, my 1782 doesn't have any. Give Oak a shout I'm sure he would know.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
