Default I got the adjusting knob

Folks,
I stopped in at the PO tonight on a chance that he might remember the adjusting knob. Yep, he dug around in the garage and in less than a minute I had it in hand. Looks like it has some weld in a area that must have worn?
Still not sure how this works
I did notice that the exhaust pipe has rusted through on the top of the small pipe extension beyond the muffler
I also got the serial number, any info on that would be good. Sorry I did not look it up yet. The PO said this 86 was purchased in 1976.

Hope things are good in Cub land!
Regards,
Chris

Mike,
Well that's interesting. Wonder if I heard wrong, or the PO made a mistake? Or could it have been in stock for 3 years???
Thanks for looking it up! 40 years!
Regards,
Chris

Good to hear from you, Chris! It's going to be in the 30's today. Getting colder next week. We're finally having some Winter in NC..lol.

The 100 and 782 are doing well. The super is having some repairs done.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
