This is why I turn on the "only cub cadets news cast", at least twice a day! It's always great news, when the "fix", is something simple. And cheap! Makes for a good day, for you, and for us.

OK, finally back.
Got the 125 running for the first time today with a carb kit. The thing actually runs very well, but there's more things worn out on this ole girl than first thought. Pulled the engine and found one of the bolts holding the engine in is cross threaded , wonder if IH did this when they put in the replacement? I've got a small hydraulic leak, that should be handled with a couple O-rings. Drained the hydraulic fluid, and of course it was pretty nasty, cleaned out the diff, (with cloth rag). I was going to originally put it back into mowing condition and flip it, but seeing the PTO is roached, deck spindles are about shot, but the shell is good and I've been needing one for my 149, donor! Also the steering spindles and axle have more play than a kindergarten playground , so.....I think I'm going to build myself a toy out of it. Been wanting a narrow front GT, and this is going to be the "chosen one" Off we go

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
