J there is no hydro drain hole. The fluid has to drain back through the bearing. There is a curved slot on the tranny side and we put the corks adhesive side on that surface the other surface has no openings and that side is where the ultra grey sealant was used. I just went to the garage and no leaks overnight.

That's a good deal!!
Did you read my post in the other thread on the hydro cork gasket problems? http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=34221 Maybe it was the output shaft seal..... *Edit: Never mind, I see you saw it now....

I was putting the 2072 back together yesterday and was anxious to get a few jobs done with it. We had made new battery cables a while back and while trying to hook up the positive cable found the connecter was loose and pulled it right off. To add to my woes this is a very serious cable as it was made from welder wiring and I did not have the tool to recrimp the connecter so it still sits in the garage but happily without any puddles under it.

Sam I thought of that as the connector is a cup, i.e. closed at one end and if I soldered the wire and crimped it again there would be a lump of solder and wire ahead of the crimp.

I put the connector in the vise, heat it with a propane torch then melt the solder into the connector. When it's about full I slip the cable into it. Continue to heat it till the solder flows into the cable. Cool it off then some heat shrink and your good to go. Never had a problem with one.

That is my plan Sam. I have heat shrink but nothing that big. I will just have to wrap it with tape.

Well we finally got the 2072 where we want him. No more leaks and he works and I am happy happy happy, lol.
