I noticed in the ad that there was a fairlead on the front of the winch...did this come with it? From my jeep experiences that is important to keeping the cable straight!

PS...Sam mine is on the way as well ! Not sure what its use will be but setting thinking about is I will come up with something!

Yep they come with the fairlead. I have 3 of them sitting on the shelf if any of you need one let me know.

Come to think about it there was no fairlead. We had to roll it out and back a couple times. It had a couple spring loaded guide bars across the top and back. A plastic control box was mounted on top of these bars with brackets and retainer screws in the back. It would ball up and pop the bracket loose and the spring loaded guide roller bar. Needed a BFH. Have to ask him about a fairlead. Mike

Need one for raising a heavy overhead loft stairway,
Any ideas??

Just attach the 12v winch to a 12v auto battery.

I just want to caution you guys, these things have a time lag from when you release the button on the remote to when it actually shuts off. Not the greatest when it comes to precise control. Be careful.

Just did the same here. Didn't do it last time but figured with how many times around the property I've wished I had something to pull a tractor up on a trailer, lift something in the shop, pull something in the yard, etc I could find 1001 uses for it. Thanks guys for posting this again

Edit: Anybody end up using these mounted in the garage to help lift engines out of Cubs or anything like that? I know they aren't overhead rated but for pulling an engine or lifting a deck or something; I don't see why that wouldn't work fine.
