I sold 6 that were kinda rough and needing a lot of work. Now I have more time to spend on the ones I really need/want to fix up. I have been buying, repairing, and reselling them, but I'm trying to get out of that for the most part, as I've got one year of college left and I doubt I'll have room to keep a bunch of these anywhere for awhile, so they'll stay with my parents, where they will be used.

Looks good, Matt! I know what you mean on selling cubs. At one time, I had four of them, and now I'm down to one...LOL.

I'm finally getting somewhere now...the rear and associated parts are in primer. I'll shoot the black in the next couple of days with an HVLP gun, depending on when the weather is good.

I'm just trying to make it ready to work. It'll look alright from a distance, but not up close, because the hood, side panels, and rear wheels were repainted with a BRUSH (horrible texture...looks as bad as that sounds), and the fenders were touched up with the newer CC orange/yellow that looks like crap. The rear and brake stuff is just getting painted because I didn't want to put a rusty yellow rear into it. With it painted black, it'll look closer to factory. I've gotta sandblast and repaint the deck after this. Luckily, I've got a spare 50C that I redid for my 782D, and it just sits around because I've got a 46GT on that now. I'll use that on here while I fix the other deck.

I would love to contact the PO and tell him how much I disagree with this being "ready to mow". It's been apart for about 5 weeks now, and it still isn't ready...

My 1872 was advertised "completely serviced and ready to work". It, too, has required many hours just to clean all the crud, tune up, and replace the fluids and filters. Still much more to do to make it nice. I would like to comfront the PO with pictures in hand. Oh well, Caveat Emptor!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
