It's his stuff and he should be able to do what he wants with it. I have seen many tractor salvage yards that have stacks of frames waiting for scrap, or other CC guys who have the cast grills and scrap them, because, hey, how often do you replace one !?
At least he has saved many of them; here for the future. Have you noticed how many GOOD tractors (all brands) are being sold/ junked because the new ZERO TURN mowers have replaced them. Save what you can but don't let your passions get the better of you. C&O2-10-4

Calling someone else's pride and joy junk is a little uncalled for in my opinion. I've scrapped cubs before. I don't anymore because they aren't worth anything. I have a friend who parts them out allot so I just give them to him.

Mark,
They're your cubs, do with them as you please. It's America, and they are only garden tractors. This is the kind of crap that ruined this forum. Used to be a place to come, sit around the fire, have a few "drinks", and chew the fat regarding Cub Cadets. Now if you post, you're told what you did wrong, why you didn't do it right, how it should have been done, and don't argue with me cause I'll always be right, get the last word it, and lock the thread. I really know the common thread to this issue as do most everyone else. I just read, lurk, and shake my head from time to time anymore. Oh, and I really wanted my Son to join when he was old enough. Forget that. This is the type of stuff I teach him and my daughter to avoid. They are raised to treat others, as they would want to be treated. It's even left a bad taste in my mouth whereas I've sold off quite of few of my cubs and am only down to three. Don't feel like working on them either after reading some threads on here. Guys used to build each other up, not tear them down, kick them, then laugh. So sad...... Charles, I totally agree with you and your comments.

Question for the OP, in the pic you show of the torched frame, was the owner REALLY planning on trying to put the shaft back in after he free hand torched it out of there?
![]() I still think we need a section where we can post the craziest PO mods and the saddest looking Cadets we drug home.

Three years ago I was dead on an operating table and then spent 5 days in a comma. It now takes much more than a forum post to piss me off. I appreciate all the PMs. Charles

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
