Today I got under the 1782 and started to work on the front joint. Going to get the new shaft tomorrow morning, and will probably get back to work on it after I get home.

I swapped engines in my 100. I pulled out the black replacement 12hp and put in the older 12hp that came out of my 126. The black engine will be getting painted red and going in my 149. It's on the stand so I can remove the grenade gears and remove the tins to prepare it for paint. I wanted the better engine for my mowing tractor since it will get more use. (not this year with the drought) I got to use my new chain hoist so my back is thanking me.
I also swapped steering columns in the 100 and put the original column back in. I swapped columns out a while back because the bearing races disintegrated and I had the 149 column rebuilt and out of the tractor so I just swapped them out. I didn't realize the 149 column is 1" shorter until I went to close the hood and it hit the steering wheel. Now, the hood closes fine and I have more room between the wheel and dash.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
