I took what was left of the baffles to a welding fabricating shop, had them guage the original & they came up with a ? guage. Dont remember the guage but- --- it was not 1/8". More like a 16g.? Dont remember? The clips I used to mount the baffles were 1/8" black angle iron= 6" long. I then used my saw-zal to cut the clips to 3/4" long, bent the new baffles to make them fit. Bolted the clips to the deck & then tacked the baffles to the mounted clips. Quite satisfisfied with my fabricating skills, it was fun. First thing that I've so-called fabricated & welded with my super duper 90amp. welder from Harbor Freight. Nik,

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
