Due to an intermittent no crank situation, I decided to replaced the tired starter/glow plug dash key switch using a new OEM Kubota switch. All of the exterior terminals were dirty, and if I were to dissect the original switch, the contacts inside the switch are assuredly suspect. The biggest issue with these was that in it's original configuration, a great deal of current went through the contacts in the switch to power the glow plugs. With the modified system with a glow plug relay, that will reduce the load through the switch, so in theory, should last a very, very long time. That key switch is physically large and heavy! The few times I tried the starter after the install, it cranked every time, so it appears that it fixed that issue.

I have that exact seat on mine, and it started splitting (even with the rig not exposed to sun/weather) after about 5 yrs. I guess that's about par for the course.
Great looking rig !

Good to know. Unfortunately, they are about as good as it gets now. My gas 782 has one, but it is only 2 years old.

One of the previous owners put a J*** D**** air filter assembly on this tractor. It always rattled, and had multiple inlets. I sourced a correct used housing and bracket, with the special plastic inlet horn, and all new OEM Kubota guts, including wing bolt, gasket, baffle, and bottom cover.

The last 2 new seats I bought both SUCK!
Both bought from one of the sponsors here. The retainer strip that holds the actual vinyl cover to the frame will not stay in place and starts falling off around the sides and the front taking the metal joint clip with it. After a few hours of use and a few mounts and dismounts the retainer strip, cover clip and all are hanging down off the frame on the sides and the front. NEVER had that issue with new seats in the past and even the old original ones that are cut and split in places are still intact and tight around the edges. Seems they have cheapened the retainer strip with something other (plastic maybe?) than the metal "U" sections molded into it that will not hold their shape. Of course, I discovered this, months after purchasing them, too late to ask for any recourse from the supplier as well. And the on line vendor I had purchased several others from a few years back is apparently no longer in business. His seats are holding up well. |

Just to clarify, the seats you purchased were K&M brand model 7519?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
