I'm not quite sure why you responded like that. Like I said the directions on the label say to mix 7.4 oz. in 1 to 10 gallons of water. I'm asking what ratio would be best for a gravel driveway? 7.4 ounces of weed killer in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 gallons.

7.4 oz of concentrate to 1.3875 gallons of water. Kind of late for spraying isn't it?

Am I wasting my time? It is supposed to last approx. a year but states that you might have to reapply in 6 to 8 months. I was thinking to kill off what I have and then get the regrowth in the Spring. maybe I'm thinking wrong. That's why I'm asking questions.

Wait till spring. No reason to spray now. Frost will kill it in a few weeks.

Spot spraying to me has always been a very hard thing to nail down a rate, at least to me. From my experience, it always seems spot spraying puts far more of the carrier (water in this case) out than blanket/field spraying. I'd mix at roughly the mid rate and spray with a light spray, assuming you are dealing with weeds under a couple inches. Give it a week or two and see what happens. Seems to be one of those trial and error procedures almost.

FWIW, maybe things have stopped growing where you are, but I just sprayed some Roundup yesterday. Will quite possibly have to spray some fields toward the end of the month. Farm road needs it now, just don't have time to do it. Unless the product you are using has some residual effect, you'll have to spray multiple times per year.

Your climate is a bit different John. It's October, and he's up near the Great Lakes. If it hasn't frosted yet, it will soon. We'll likely have a frost here in the next 2-3 weeks, and I'm further south than he is! NOBODY sprays Round Up in the fall here. We do put down some fall chemical for corn ground, but guys here are pretty careful about it because if we have a wet spring, you can't switch to beans or they won't come up. You have to go to sorghum, and no one here likes raising that awful stuff.

Grass here is winding down if nothing else due to the shortening days. It will grow as long as it's warm enough, but it grows slow.

Hi Bull, 2 oz. to the gallon. I do it twice a year. I like having my driveway back. Now to go blow off the leaves. Mike

I have to laugh, we discuss what rate to mix Glyphosate,
and measure it with an once cup.
Then put it in a hand sprayer and walk about applying it, about as accurate as pissing in the wind.

When I apply chemical to my farm fields, I calibrate my sprayer as to gallons per acre, tractor speed, air temp & wind direction, product EPA number,date & time and record it.
I come within a couple of gallons of mixture in a 10 acre field.
