Sam, looking great!,.... cant believe all the sbc bashing going on here. Sorry, but Chevy dominates Nascar. You guys dont know much about anything GM. Good loard, GM put out the best looking cars and trucks through the 50's up to the 80's, hands down! The Dodge trucks were rotted out scrap. True, MoPo was king of the drag {392 h emi }, but Ford was right there too. Jungle Jim's Vega was just awesome, same with the Brutis GTO. Race on Sunday, sell on Monday! Its fun to rant in a nice way, too!

Hey cool it's my old 71! That thing is looking great Sam glad it went to a better home. And don't blame me for the wiring on the 317 I know it looks like my work but I promise it was like that when I found it
What did you end up doing about the carburetor on the 317? |

Good to hear from you! Sorry but I thought it was you that did the wiring on it. Pulled the carb apart on the Honda and was able to get the broken low speed screw out. Cleaned it all up put a new screw in it. Got the missing air cleaner parts, a new used hood, junked the SEW motor mounts and built my own, replaced the gas tank, new fuel line. Went through it and a rattle can paint job. This is the before and after. Sam

It certainly was rough before but it looks great now! Glad you got it running without too much trouble. Sorry I didn't mean to derail the thread off your 71.
Thanks! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
