I understand that, but you CAN have both...
I just think it would be really cool. You'd never need front weights

Yeah..... normally I don't like ag's on the front, but you don't see tandem axle tractors either, so I'll make an exception. Who was that guy poking fun anyway.... |

I've already removed the lift lever (it was jammed up inside) and other lift components. Only thing left is the rockshaft itself. Not that it couldn't be fixed and re-installed. Would need a loooonnng link arm from the rockshaft to the rear end. Or rig up a Sam Mac winch powered lift.

Looks like a lot of room between the transmissions to mount a cylinder. JD used a cylinder with a elongated end on the piston to allow the system to float. I think you could make it work here. Nice looking project, by the way.
Sorry about the picture, only one I had. |

YES!!
I mean a category 0 3 point. You could do as jumper suggested or the way Keith and I did his cat 0. Just figured it would add to the uniqueness of your build

Had to run to Richmond today, so didn't get much time in the shop. Our son (29 years old) came today to spend Christmas with us.
After dinner, I got an hour or so, so I mounted the starter and belt, and spent some time cleaning up some old wiring for lights (replaced switch and ran new wires fore and aft for future lights) and made a new positive battery cable to run from the starter relay all the way to the rear of the tractor where I think the battery will reside when I'm all done. Started on the gas tank. The existing tank is pretty beat up and has some debris inside it. So I decided to pull a spare that I will use. My original plan was to leave this tractor as is, cosmetically, until it is running, then come back and pretty it up. But as I work on it, I think about the extra effort to come back and disassemble, paint, etc, so I'm taking some time to deal with areas that might not be accessible after it's in running shape. No pics this time. Use your imagination!

Only minor progress today. Not so exciting waiting for paint to dry...
cleaned, primed and painted the fuel tank. Installed the tank supports. Hooked up a jump pack and "energized" the wiring harness. Starter relay is stuck or failed open. Jumped it and the engine turned over. No fuel system, so no start. No IH dealer within 60 miles of where we live now, so I got some paint at a Tractor Supply store. Magic (or majic?) brand. Close color match but slow to dry and I don't care for the circular spay pattern. One pic of the new positive battery cable (even though it's black--will add some red tape to it shortly) and the coiled up yellow cable for tail lights. Need to drill and tap a hole for a battery ground, (or make another cable to run forward to the starter ground, which, actually is better). I have the cable and terminals...) OK, a couple pics...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
