orry about the negativity, but the chance to plow and watching the big fast boys adapt, and dropping down to first gear, so I could plow is what it's about, I use to race dirt, back in the sixties, ran second a lot,but my machine didn't brake/finished the race, If U show and run, U feel proud to be part of a good team of dudes who will help each other through the day,PLOWING WHATS WE DO!!!DaDuke Of

Well it was down to 4 of us to finish the field. Duke, Ben, his pop, and myself. Duke couldnt take the heat anymore and loaded up
![]() ![]() , then Ben and his dad needed to get back to VA so I was left to finish but the ol 882 pulled through and I loaded up about 3pm. I think it was a great turn out for such short notice. The field layout was horrible. Absolutely horrible with the way we had to turn around in the already plowed sections. Just bad planning and it wont be like that next time. Overall I thought this dirt was a bit more easy than his other field up on the hill. Or maybe it was just the difference in the rain this time. He was glad we came and hoped everyone had a good time. I had a little chit chat after I loaded up and he seemed pleased with the days event. It was great to see everyone as usual and its always nice to turn some dirt. Seat time is always good! I know, shutup David and show us the pics. Well wait no more boys, here they are: The first 4 pics are of the field we plowed. The last one is Duke taking the 882 for a spin. We have this man in the first pic to thank for allowing us to come out and plow. Jim Moore of Albemarle NC. Great guy and one awesome tractor he is leaning against. I would LOVE to have that tractor. Farmall Super MD-TA. Really hard to find around here.
If you want to see more pics, just follow the link to the photobucket Album I posted in the previous posts. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

David great pics! They were almost worth the wait.
I really enjoyed the seat time on the 882! I never would have guessed that the fender pans would have been so hot from the engine! Did you guys get the field all plowed up? I would have stayed but ya wore the clutch out the 1200.

![]() I now know why all the wide frame guys have front wieghts! I had the nose pull up on me several times. Never had that problem with the 122 or 125. Must be the engine being further forward in a NF over a WF. |

Not only the motor position, but the aluminum front grill frame, the nf's have solid cast heavy front frame! did a Wheel scale, each coner nf, and found real even weight dist. I checked my new 1541 it's 35lbs. less in the front! I have added 40lb ZRT cub weight to 1541 to help the front stay put! the early nfs were well balanced machines. balance on race cars was critical to hang in the corners, learned that one back in the sixties, the fast cars were well balanced!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
